Starkbier Fest, Wednesday, April 16, 7:00p
The Lenten season is the season for strong beers. Traditionally, German brewers hold a Stark Bier (strong beer) event to honor the brewing of beers that had extra body to make-up for the fasting that happened during the season.
In that tradition, Willoughby Brewing is holding our first annual Starkbier Fest on Wednesday, April 16 at 7:00pm.
Cost is $40 per person and includes souvenir glass, food and a 6-8oz pour of each of the beers.
Beer list is:
WBC BDA Russian Imperial Stout
WBC She's Soo Heavy Scottish Strong Ale
WBC/Brewkettle Barrel-aged Collaborator Doppelbock
Brewkettle Jackhammer Barleywine
Fat Head's Battle Axe Baltic Porter
Great Lakes Chillwave Double IPA
and a very special limited beer
Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier - This smoked-beer is brewed in Bamberg, Germany. It's only brewed during this season and limited quantities are sent to the US in keg only.
As we taste each of the beers, we'll talk about the what makes the beer style and the history of the beer and brewery.
To reserve your seat, stop by WBC or call 440-975-0202 to get a spot. We have limited room and it's first come first served.
Unfortunately, due to demand, we do not offer our beer for sale in kegs.
To make a reservation, enter the date, time and number in party on the right and click “Find A Table”.
If you’re making group, special event or last-minute reservations, we’d prefer if you call the brewery at 440-975-0202 to ensure your reservation can be accommodated.
